Sara Chatterjee is living her best life. She’s working her way to her dream job and is dating her childhood best friend, Spencer Bailer. But she lives a double life: her family doesn’t know she’s gay, and her girlfriend doesn’t know she’s still being set up with male suitors. At a family lunch, REENA, Sara’s younger sister, reveals that she’s started looking for engagement rings with her boyfriend RYAN. Her horrified parents, MAHESH and LEELA, put a stop to it. Sara is older, she has to get married first. Sara’s mother decides it’s time to meet another male suitor, much to Spencer’s surprise. She knew Sara was still in the closet but Sara told her that the suitors had stopped months ago. Heartbroken, at being lied to, Spencer confronts Sara about this lie that could have damaging effects on their relationship.
